frignes One of the best Black Folk Metal albums ever released. Amazingly tight, and absolutely apex vocals you'll ever encounter in the genre. Favorite track: Fela etter'n far.

Bruce I just love this album. Beautiful clean vocals and other folk touches that fit seamlessly with the heavier Viking-tinged main thrust. Incredibly atmospheric; this will have you longing for frost-rimed fjords of Myrkgrav's homeland. Favorite track: Tre skygger tel kølabrennern kom.

Oscar Ekholm Except from Windir I've always felt my Norwegian neighbours have been lagging behind when it comes to folk themed metal, but Myrkgrav's releases are fantastic and weighs up for that a lot. Musically superb, lyric-wise very different, in my opinion, but also really great.

about

Myrkgrav's debut album. It's a little rough around the edges ( seeing as how it was composed and recorded when Lars Jensen a teenager), yet an essential and important part of the band's legacy.
